THIS TRAIN IS BOUND FOR GLORY!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUNDAY NIGHT'S GAME!
16 GAMES TO 17!
Also excited for the B's on Saturday...planning to wear the jersey out.
Do yourselves a favor (we're back to the C's here) and check out "In The Air Tonight" on youtube or bostonceltics.com. Awesome.
Question: Do "MVP" awards make sense? Sol and I were discussing the possibility of KG ("The Cobra" that is) winning it. Like Simmons said, he clearly deserves it: biggest turnaround in league history, 3rd best Celtics record of all time (think about that for a second!) the emphasis on defense, team culture etc. All true. I love Garnett, this is obvious. But could he have done this without Pierce? What sort of record does this team have without Pierce and Allen? It's just hard to quantify the individual for me, so I guess my question is: do you place any value at all on an MVP? Should we bother naming one, or does it just reinforce viewing a team sport in a selfish manner?
I don't care about the MVP. I care about #17.
66 wins down, 16 to go...
FUCK DETROIT.

Rings Today!
Sol and I got to see the ring presentation in person at Opening Day '05, so I'm not too bummed that I'll miss it today on TV. It would have been nice to see Julio Lugo get this though...that guy sure earned it! And continues to amaze this season!
I cannot wait until the Celtics start their playoff run...anything short of the finals will be a disappointment. What a pleasure to watch them this year. I was too young to remember '86 and only got to attend one game at the Garden. Hell, my favorite players as a kid were Dino Radja, Xavier McDaniels and Sherman Douglas. That tells you how far they've come. I feel very fortunate as a fan that I got to watch my two favorite NBA players of all time, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, play together with my dad's favorite player, Ray Allen. What a season.
How about a shout-out to the B's? Not much chance against the Habs, but at least we made the playoffs. Fuck Canada!

One Sure Thing in the Tourney
I'm not all that interested in college hoop, although my brother in law and a couple of his friends attend the east regionals every year, but there is one thing I can predict:
mwerrell will not pick Duke.
You can bet on it!

Welcome to The Sauce
Despite the fact that I never cared about college basketball and that my sister attends Duke, it is impossible not to hang around with Mikey (W, not O) and not fall in love with Carolina basketball. That and we run the Carolina Secondary Break up here in Maine all the time. Anyway, I've got to go with UNC because I'm a homer and they are now my team.

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE!!!
Yes,
Thanks to Mikey O, the Sauceman is finally in the blog! My first question is who is going to win the NCAA Tourney. 6 Grueling games that takes skill, determination, and as any championship team needs, a little luck along the way. Clearly North Carolina has to be the favorite with Hansborough in the middle, Ellington shooting the three, and Lawson running the point. However, teams like Memphis (even though they play in C-USA), UCLA, and my sleeper Texas all have a shot to take home the trophy!!
