Game

Mikey, you and I should meet in Boston some weekend night for a game...oh wait, you "don't travel well."

Dribble

82 games is a lot to play, especially for the older guys. I suspected there would be a let-down, and I'm glad it's now and not in May or June. I wouldn't mind seeing Garnett shut down until after the All-Star break to make sure he's healthy for the second half (though I fear Pierce and Allen developing bad habits in his absence). They need the break, and then they'll find their mojo again. It's motivation...they'll start getting pumped up again soon. I love Garnett, but I imagine it's tough for him and for all the players to maintain that sort of intensity all the time. A back-up point guard will help immensely, so the real question is: Stoudamire or hold out and hope for Cassell? As long as House and Tony never have to bring the ball up the court, we'll be ok!

In other news, two weeks between conference championships and the Super Bowl is ridiculous. I can't take any more hype; play the game!!!

Three Touchdowns?? And Wither the Celtics?

I don't know. 21 points is a lot. I'd say 10 is more like it. The Giants put up 35 on us a few weeks ago and they are balanced on offense and defense. I do think the Pats were gassed back then and will do better this time around, but it will be 35 to 24, Pats.

What's with the Celtics. They look tired, their bench is inconsistent and they are having a hard time defending on the perimeter. Teams seemed to have learned not to go underneath with KG and Perkins lurking there and bomb away from the outside, where Pierce and Allen are a half-step slow. What is their record over the last 15? 8 and 7? 9 and 6? They just seem to be dragging a bit.

Predictions?

Pats: 38
Giants: 17

No Indie is a Let Down

Yeah, I was really looking forward to the Indie game. That would have been great to read about all week. Everyone seems to believe the Pats will blow out the chargers, and I can't seem to get nervous about that game. It is more fun when I think it will be contest. But then agian, the Pats haven't blown any team out lately, so it will probably be close anyway.

Still, I wanted to see Peyton cry at Foxborough.

Hey Mike: Shut Up!

Was anyone upset that we aren't playing the Colts?

Pretty Quiet Out There

Just to spice things up a bit, I've created a poll on the AFC Championship game. It would be great if we could get the blog going again.
